uk fashion has stolen my heart

I love everything about London fashion. It's so much more... deconstructed than over here. Much more original. And they get Victoria and David Beckham! What do we have? Nicole and Paris? And in the U.S., not even Canada.

Anyway, I've always been hearing about TopShop. I finally got around to looking at their website, and fell in love. While they're really not that cheap (especially with the exchange), the tops and necklaces are just so cute! I was able to get a bunch of necklaces and a pretty shirt. This was my favourite of the bunch:

Next on my list was Asos. From the look of the site, Asos is all about mimicking celebrity fashion. Their jewellry and site layout was not quite as nice as TopShop, but their tops! I fell in love with this one, in black:

Lucky me was able to get the last one in my size! Along with a few other items.

We have nothing like this in Canada. I guess Costa Blanca is somewhat similar, but the quality is so cheap, even for the prices you pay. You can't purchase their clothing online, and their store are usually difficult to maneuver through because of the layout. They could also be compared to Aritzia. But Aritzia's house brands are ridiculously overpriced for what they are and they focus on name brand rather than clothing that is actually of-the-moment.

I guess I'll just have to wait until I get my fabulous job in Europe to enjoy more of this!

"refugee hats"

I like hats.

I like this hat, by A. Kurtz. Especially the colour- you never see anyone with a grey hat.
I like this hat too, by Diesel. I love the style, and that there is no tacky label all over it.

I like this hat too, by A. Kurtz again. A. Kurtz is awesome.

I LOVE this hat, by Plain Jane Couture. I love their logo, the colour, the label, EVERYTHING.

I don't know how long these hats have been in style for (at least the past 2 years?) but I still love them. They look really good with long, straight hair and give your outfit an 'edge'.

Edginess is good.

trend alert: high-waisted slacks

I love the high-waisted trend.

I just snagged these Robert Rodriguez crops. Picture them with suspenders and a pale purple shirt. And nicer shoes, obviously.

Even the high waisted skirts are really cute. The one thing that I cannot picture is high-waisted jeans. I mean, I've seen pictures and I guess it could possibly work with a skinny leg, but still! Maybe it's just anything full length with a high waist? I think dress pants with a high waist might be ugly too.

They'll probably catch on though. The world was against skinny jeans and look at how long that lasted!

nanette lepore for keds

Although I'm a shorty, I live in flats. Usually the cheapo kind from Le Chateau, etc. as I tend to lose them or wreck them in some way. Heels are sexy and everything, but ballet flats and skinnies just look so cute! A tad overdone, but still so cute.

My new shoe obsession has become the Nanette Lepore Keds! Specifically, the white ones with black script in the 'Skimmer' style.

I have no idea what the writing actually says, but I'm assuming it's something really deep and meaningful.

I've always been a fan of her clothing lines, especially her suiting and dressier tops. Maybe this will be the start of a more casual line for her?
